Read PDFs Aloud on Windows

Open a PDF in the viewer you already use, mark the text, and press F8. CaptRead reads it out loud and lights up each word as it goes.

CaptRead is a Windows app that reads marked text, so it does not matter which PDF viewer or browser you open the file in.

Mark a paragraph, a page or more, then press F8 to start and F8 again to stop.

Text that cannot be marked, such as a scanned page or an image, can be read with the OCR feature.

Good To Know

Neural voices read naturally, and offline voices are available for reading without an internet connection.

Bionic Reading can be turned on for the highlighted words, which some readers find easier to follow.

The reading features are free to use, and no account is needed to use the app.
