For Different Readers
Losing your place mid-line. Reading the same sentence three times. A screen that reads text aloud but leaves your eyes with nothing to follow. CaptRead was built around those exact problems — free, for Windows, in whatever app you're already reading in.
Two Tools, Not One
Bionic Reading bolds the first few letters of every word, giving your eyes a fixed point to land on instead of having to process a whole word at once — a common aid for dyslexia and for anyone who finds dense text exhausting to track. Pair that with a real spoken voice reading the exact same text out loud, word for word, and you get two different ways into the same sentence at once — read the shape, hear the sound, whichever (or both) actually clicks for you.
It works inside Word, your browser, PDFs, and almost any other Windows app — highlight text, press a key, done. No copying into a separate tool, no browser extension that only works on some sites, no account required to start.
Who This Is For
CaptRead is built with dyslexia and ADHD specifically in mind, but the same two tools help anyone who reads a lot of dense text on screen: students working through long PDFs, people reading in a second language, anyone whose eyes get tired staring at a page, or anyone who just concentrates better listening than reading silently. If small text and long paragraphs wear you out, this is built for you too.
